"Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalms 46:10 NASB)
During a time of the year when we are being told to make resolutions, start new commitments, and be more organized, it is hard to read this verse. We are surrounded with voices that tell us to "be the change." Perhaps we are not supposed to "be" anything except still and ready to see God's work of change in our lives and the lives of those around us. He is more than able!
So, I want to resolve to be still more and to cease striving to do things God already has under control.
